A Quilt Show with my best friend.

Hello Friends.  I had a wonderful day last Saturday.   My very dear friend and I went to the quilt show on Manitoulin Island.  We stopped at Cindy B's Quilt Shop on the way through Espanola, where we did a little shopping!   Then off to Manitowaning, to view some quilts.   The show was beautiful.  It sure was nice to chat with quilting friends I haven't seen for awhile, especially surrounded by quilts, our common thread that binds us.  The main feature was the Quilt of Belonging, which is breathtaking.  To think that one persons' vision has become something so beautiful and truly touching.  If you have not already done so, I recommend that you take the time to see this amazing work of art,  if the opportunity arises.  Here are a few of the blocks, pictures do not do them justice!

This quilt is 120 feet long!  I feel overwhelmed when I tackle a king size bed quilt.  Makes you think!

Now while I was visiting the venders mall, I went to say Hello one of my dear friends Linda, who owns the Needle Box quilt shop in Little Current Ontario.   Linda doesn't have a large shop but I seem to always find some special gem when I visit.  This day was no different.   I don't  have alot of spare time for creating decorative pieces for my house, so when I spotted this project it was in the shopping bag.  Leave it to Linda to have just what I needed for my fall decorations.

A no sew pumpkin kit.  A fat quarter folded around a foam tube.  The centre of the tube comes out and becomes the stem.  Decorate with a silk flower and Voila my autumn pumpkin decoration, and it only took me 5 minutes.  That's a project I have time for.  :)

Let me know if you have any 5 minute goodies you like to make.  We'd love to see you pictures.

That's all for now.  Thanks for dropping by.  Keep safe, stay dry and quilt on!
