Catch a Falling
A weekend Workshop with Carla Alexiuk
November 4 & 5.2017
Lexington Hotel, Sudbury Ontario
I am so excited to share with you my newest pattern “Catch a falling Star”. Each year, we get together and create some amazing quilts. This year, my retreat style workshop, has you jumping in and making a combination Lemoyne star. This star is a union of both a blazing and banded Lemoyne. Once again there is no paper piecing and no templets.
With the use of the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool, quilting is easier and more fun. It adds accuracy and precision for the best results in your quilting project.
The block units are strip pieced, assembled without using any “Y” seams, pieced so that the blocks themselves are slightly oversized, so at the end, each can be trimmed to an exact size.
There are three project sizes to choose from: Table runner, Table topper/wallhanging or Lap quilt. The lattice is yours to play with as I have incorporated several design elements for you to add to your quilt to make it your own. I have incorporated a square squared into the cornerstone of the lattice. This tool and technique will be covered in the workshop so that you can expand your tool repetoir.
I will guide you through the construction process step by step. If your ready for a spectacular variation of the Lemoyne Star, Come join me - you’ll be surrounded by friends, fabric and laughter.
