Look at the beautiful block below.
The only way to construct this Flying Swallows block used to be either by paper piecing or templates.
But now using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star Ruler we can create the three star points within each star point using a strip pieced method designed by Pam Goggans.
There are no inset seams and no templates.
Using the techniques outlined by Deb Tucker we make the units bigger and square them up so that the points come out pointy and units fit together like a dream.
We will cover the two main construction techniques popular for creating the other 5 Lemoyne stars found in the Studio 180 repertoire.
Carla’s individual support and guidance will help quilters dive in to create this spectacular block.
During the weekend you will construct 4 flying swallows blocks.
A variety of layout options will be available or continue at home to make an entire quilt.
An assortment of Studio 180 rulers and tools, including the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star ruler, will be available for purchase along with a selection of Carla’s favourite notions.
