Hello Friends. Welcome to that time of year again when the "to do" list is longer then the days left on the calendar. With Christmas just around the corner, I am busy getting the last of the quilts long-armed for my customers. I haven't done any gift shopping yet but hope to start this week, that is if the weather cooperates. Last week we were in snow mode, and today we are +6C.
Last weekend when my hubby and I were in Toronto, I purchased a new sewing machine, a Juki TL2010Q. I have been researching machines for the last year. My primary sewing machine has been a Husqvarna Designer 1, purchased it in the late '90's. It is getting sort of old and has its quirks. I can no longer free motion quilt on it as it skips stitches. Being that 90% of my sewing requires a straight stitch only, I found myself drawn to this particular machine. It is all steel, no plastic parts, straight stitch only and made for quilting. I comes with several quilting feet and has a large throat space. Perfect for doing what I need to do. If you would like to view the particulars click here.
The machine comes with a very large extension table that I opted not to use, and instead had my Hubby make an insert for my sewing cabinet. If your interested in knowing more, or how you can purchase one, feel free to contact me. As I use my new Juki more I will give you a full review in a future post, so far - I'm loving it!
With the holiday season approaching, there have been some new quick quilted projects created in the studio. My this years favourite is a table runner by Triangle Frenzy
That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by, till next time, drive safe, keep creating!
