Hello Friends. May 2nd, and I am happy to report the snow in the yard is almost gone. The deer are back in the yard feeding on grass and "George", our resident ground hog, is making daily appearances now. However, I sure thought that we would have snow forever. I had a Free Motion workshop in Sturgeon Falls on Saturday, and let me tell you, you would of thought it was December. The drive there, bright and early in the morning, was not what you would have expected for the 28th of April.
Since then. the sun has come out and the temperatures are more to my liking. Soon, I will have to find out if my shorts still fit! :(
On Thursday April 19th, I drove down to Barrie Ont, where I had the pleasure of presenting my trunk show to the quilters of the Kempenfelt Quilters Guild. What a lovely group of quilters and I received such a warm welcome. To my surprise again, there were a few quilters that had attended some of my workshop in the past and It was great to get caught up with all that they have been doing. Their guild is a bustle of activity with charity quilts, raffles and show and share. I had a wonderful time, Thank you all again.

This weekend I will be close to home, with a workshop for the Sudbury Quilting and Stitchery Guild. We will be spending two days doing all things appliqué and the quilters will learn new techniques with the Apliquick tools. I am so looking forward to seeing the creative juices flow and the quilts that will transpire from our time together.
Big news from one of my favourite and most helpful businesses in town. I popped into Duplicators yesterday to have Tracy Lauzon (Owner/General Manager) jumping up and down with excitement. " I have been waiting for you to come in" she exclaimed as she emerged from her office. It seems that they have a new technique/product that they have been practicing with. Duplicators can now put your photos onto fabric as large as 11" x 14". "This e-transfer process has very good wearability", Tracy told me. She has been washing and drying one of her samples just to make sure that it can hold up to the life of a quilt. So, if your in the need of some photos onto fabric make sure you drop in and have a chat. Oh the possibilities!
Before I get busy banging the pots and pans, here is a peek at a new Studio 180 pattern that one of the studio quilters just finished. Mandala finishes at 62" x 62" (but we can make it bigger, or use it as a centre) and uses the "V-Block" ™ Tool and small Tucker Trimmer™. I love to colours so much I ran out and bought the fabric to make one for myself.
